ART 17200 Typography

Everywhere we look we interact with type---road signs, games, apps, books, movie credits, instructions and more. Creative and effective use of type is core to effective communication. This course encompasses the history of letterforms and text and their psychological and utilitarian implications. Assignments range from personal, creative manipulation of words as fine art to industry-standard control of type as used in full-length publications in print and online. This course is essential for designers in all media.
