ART 13400 History of Photography

This course provides an introduction to the history of photography from Talbot and Daguerre to present day, when photography permeates all aspects of our contemporary culture. This course will examine photographs in terms of aesthetics, ideas, techniques and contexts through presentations and discussions of major photographs, photographers and trends at different points throughout the history of the medium.
