SPE 10100 Fundamentals of Speech

SPE 10100 has the fundamental aim of teaching students to speak clearly, effectively, substantively and with purpose for a given audience. Each student will compose and deliver a variety of speeches such as to inform, to persuade, to actuate, and to demonstrate, and each will learn the underlying skills like choosing a topic, researching a topic, organizing material into an effective speech, and using the voice and body to communicate effectively. The student will also learn the principle of group discussions and take part in a group project.
