HIS 17000 Psychohistory
Introduces key concepts in the field of psychohistory. Psychohistorians apply theories and insights from modern psychology to study major historical events and cultural attitudes. Topics include the history of childhood; the experience of self and society; and the traumas of violence, war, and genocide. Students will explore psychobiographies of major historical figures and analyze group processes as they relate to mass persecution, revolutionary violence, and the origins of World War II.
