LGS 11200 Criminal Law and Procedures

This course covers criminal law and procedure. It will provide paralegal students with a basic understanding of criminal law and procedure so as to prepare them to work in a general practice law firm, or one where the emphasis is on criminal law. Topics covered include an examination of mens rea and actus reus, specific crimes and defenses. Issues of criminal procedure from arrest through trial will be explored. Students will prepare relevant criminal practice documents.
