CRJ 20900 Terrorism and Homeland Security

The historical motivations, organization and tactics of various terrorist groups in regions such as the Middle East, South and North America, Europe and Asia as well as the "force multipliers: of technology, the media and religion are examined. Additional emphasis will focus on the significant challenge posed to try to balance the need to maintain the safety and security of citizens with the threats to civil liberties posed by the increase in the exercise of governmental power.
