CFS 11100 Fantasy on Film: Rings, Wands and Thrones

The cinematic fantasy genre has evolved over its brief history, but also expanded in ways that have captured the imaginations of millions of viewers all over the world. With the gargantuan critical success of adaptation properties such as Lord of the Rings, Games of Thrones and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, cinematic fantasy has secured a powerful seat at the table, as it’s reach crosses over cultural, economic and social boundaries. This course examines these three vast and seminal fantasy worlds from each of those perspectives.
