Explore music and sub-cultures of U.S. history from 1950 to present day, examining the interrelationship between music and culture, politics, race, gender, class, and societal values. Students analyze contemporary music styles including R&B, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Funk, Punk, and Hip-Hop, and the historical and cultural climates in which these styles were developed.
