PHL 20100 Introduction to Philosophy
Students examine the various schools of philosophical thought with special attention toward historical context and the major philosophers in each movement, such as Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Nietzsche, Marx, Sartre, Russell, and others, while gaining a deeper understanding of personal and global perspectives of the self, reality, and society. Students learn how to develop abilities to think clearly and how to critically analyze concepts and assess arguments through a philosophical lens.
