MUS 24300 Contemporary Music Ensemble III

Music performance class requiring student-musicians to play through a variety of music styles from the contemporary music repertoire from Jazz and Blues to Soul, Rock, Hip-Hop, and beyond. At the conclusion of each semester, the ensemble will accompany student songwriters on the main stage for a live performance of original student songs. The ensemble is designed to prepare student musicians for a career in contemporary music, with emphasis on group playing and improvisation. For the Ensemble III musician, responsibilities include advanced chart reading, basic improvisation, lead line performance, group leadership, and intercommunication between ensemble members.
