EDU 14400 Foundations of Education

Great educators are in demand and must have a strong foundation in the profession to begin their journey.  In this course, an introduction to the education profession is examined from historical, contemporary, sociological, cultural, and philosophical perspectives. Topics include professional preparation, curriculum models, administration, governance, finance, legal issues, moral responsibilities, educational philosophy, multi-cultural education, and current trends and challenges in education.  Ten (10) hours of fieldwork is required.
