NUR 11500 LPN Pathway to RN

This course is designed to prepare LPN students for placement into the Associate Degree Nursing Program. Students will transition to the role of professional registered nurse through the study of the Nursing Process and professional issues. The RCC Nursing Department conceptual framework, the seven human needs, will be examined focusing on client assessment with an emphasis on older adults. The concepts of client-centered care, safety, teamwork and collaboration, communication, delegation, evidence-based practice, management, informatics and quality improvement will be examined. Basic nursing skills will be reviewed.
