EXS 13000 Sports and Society

Looking at sports is a great way to critically examine the meaning of significance of race, gender, and class in American society. Students will be exposed to basic concepts of diversity awareness such as ethnicity, culture, race, acculturation, immigration, gender, socioeconomic status, and sexual orientation as these issues manifest at all levels of sport from organized youth leagues through professional levels.
