CAD 10600 Introduction to Design with Computers (SketchUp)

An introduction to 3D computer drafting using the intuitive, multi-faceted, SketchUp software. Students learn drawing graphic conventions, principles of architecture, including exterior, interior, and environmental as well as furniture design by generating simple structural 3D layouts. Participants design digital 3D models of systems which are tested for solar heat gain or loss in addition to calculating annual rainwater collection. Students produce a full project presentation including 3D rendering and animations. The course is suited for students, designers, engineers, and homeowners.
