ACD 10500 Counseling Skills

Development of specialized skills in individual counseling specific to the field of chemical dependency. A large part of this course will be the in-depth consideration of each client’s individual needs. This course is designed to increase the student’s awareness of theories, philosophies and various approaches to substance abuse counseling and short and long-term psychotherapy. Students will develop a basic knowledge of individual counseling skills and will interface these skills with development of a comprehensive treatment plan (This course is part of the 350 CASAC Certification Program, 45/350 hours)
